Atletico Madrid will look to secure a place in the Copa del Rey semi-finals as they host fellow La Liga side Getafe at Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid are having an impressive season, sitting second in La Liga, just one point behind Real Madrid, and progressing to the Champions League knockout stages. After a 2-0 win over Mallorca, they will face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu next weekend, where a win would see them take the top spot.

Atletico have won the Copa del Rey 10 times, making them the fourth-most successful team in its history. They’ve defeated Vic, Cacereno, Marbella, and Elche to reach the quarter-finals, but Getafe will be their toughest challenge yet. Getafe are on a six-match unbeaten streak and sit 14th in La Liga, just three points above the relegation zone.

Getafe, although yet to win the Copa del Rey, have reached the final twice, in 2007 and 2008, and have shown recent improvement, including drawing with Barcelona and beating Real Sociedad 3-0. They haven’t beaten Atletico since 2011, and their last Copa del Rey meeting in 2013 ended in a 0-0 draw, with Atletico progressing 3-0 on aggregate.
