Oman and Saudi Arabia will clash in the semi-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup at Jaber al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City.

Oman made a tough journey through the group stage, conceding first in each of their matches but remaining unbeaten. This has put them in a strong position to reach the final for a second consecutive time and the sixth in their history.

Heading into the semi-final, Rashid Jaber’s side is unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions, with just one loss in their last five internationals (1-0 to Iraq in November). Their 2-1 victory over Qatar in matchday two marked their first win in 2024 after conceding the opening goal. Oman has triumphed in five of their last six Gulf Cup semi-finals, with their only defeat during this period coming in 2014 against Qatar (3-1).

Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, are in the semi-finals for the first time since 2019, thanks to some clinical finishing. They have scored the most goals in the group stage with eight, and their total of 11 goals in four international matches this month is a significant improvement after a run of four games without scoring. 

Under Herve Renard, the Saudis have won three of their last four matches, and a victory on Tuesday would see them reach the final for the first time since 2019. A win would also match their longest winning streak of the year, having previously won three consecutive matches in January.
