Villa are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League home games and are currently in seventh place, just behind Manchester City. A win here would allow them to overtake the champions and further cement their top-four ambitions. Villa also made history last season by beating City 1-0 at home and will be looking for back-to-back victories over the reigning champions for the first time since 1993.

Manchester City:

Manchester City’s title defence is in serious jeopardy after a series of costly setbacks, including a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in last week’s derby. City’s low conversion rate of just 9.9% is their worst since the 2006-07 season, with Phil Foden notably struggling to find the net. With their title hopes slipping, City must get back to winning ways, and a visit to Villa Park is not the ideal scenario given Villa’s strong home record.
