Real Madrid will aim to add another title to their collection as they face Mexican side Pachuca in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

After a surprise 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao, Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last three matches across La Liga and the Champions League. However, they were held to a 3-3 draw by Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, leaving them in third place, one point behind leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe has yet to fully settle at Real Madrid, struggling to integrate into the star-studded squad. Los Blancos reached the Intercontinental Cup final after winning the Champions League in June, defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final.

Pachuca earned their spot in the final with a 3-0 win over Botafogo and a penalty shootout victory over Al Ahly. Despite struggling in Liga MX, where they finished 16th, Pachuca are in strong form internationally.

Wednesday’s final will be the first-ever meeting between Real Madrid and Pachuca, who will face each other again in next summer’s revamped Club World Cup.
