Division leaders Barcelona will be bidding to make it back-to-back victories in La Liga on Saturday afternoon, with Hansi Flick's side facing a trip to Seville to tackle an inconsistent Real Betis.
Real Betis:
Manuel Pellegrini’s side has had a tough season so far, sitting in 10th place with only 20 points from 15 matches. Their primary issue has been a lack of goals, with just 16 scored in those 15 league fixtures. Despite their attacking struggles, they’ve managed a solid defensive record, conceding only 18 goals. Betis are coming off a 3-1 Copa del Rey victory over Sant Andreu but have been inconsistent in La Liga, losing their last two matches to Valencia and Real Sociedad. Additionally, their poor European campaign has seen them sitting in 22nd in the Conference League. Real Betis will need to find more consistency if they are to challenge for European spots again this season.
Barcelona:
Barcelona, currently at the top of La Liga with 37 points from 16 matches, will look to continue their strong form after a dominant 5-1 victory over Mallorca. After a surprising 2-1 loss to Las Palmas earlier in the month, the Catalans bounced back impressively, with Raphinha scoring twice in midweek. Barcelona has been the best attacking team in La Liga this season, with 48 goals, and they also have the best away record, taking 22 points from 10 games. Hansi Flick's side is on a six-game winning streak against Real Betis in all competitions, and they are unbeaten against them since December 2021. Barcelona will be keen to extend that run and maintain their position at the top, with Real Madrid just four points behind.
